One of the few truly wild locations on earth, Luambe Camp is a remote and charmingly untamed gem nestled between Zambia's Luangwe National Parks. Being the only safari lodge in Luambe comes with its advantages, guests can enjoy complete solitude far away from the crowds of Zambia's larger reserves.
Dotting the river bank are four spacious safari tents, light and airy with high ceilings and an ingenious double layered roof to keep your room extra cool. The luxury tents overlook the largest pod of hippos living on the Luangwe River, you can sit on your veranda and watch their antics and be stirred in the morning by their grunting and social calls as they reenter the river. The main camp has delicious, home-cooked food served under traditional thatch or on the brilliantly moonlit riverbank before retiring to a roaring campfire after dinner.
Walking is the main activity as in any Zambian camp, from early morning misty walks to afternoon forest walks you will witness a huge variety of wildlife up close and personal. Other activities include game drives to the Chipuka Plains, experiencing endless expanses without another sole only you your driver and the animals that surround you.
