Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

At Kubu Kubu there are 25 spacious tents with en-suite bathrooms and balconies built high up on wooden platforms to make the most of the views over Serengeti National Park. The lodge style is contemporary African with subtle and sleek furnishings throughout the camp. It doesn’t just look good, it’s comfy too. The restaurant dishes up hearty meals and the cosy lounge is just calling out for socialising with pre-dinner drinks. Afternoons at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge are made for chilling by the pool, taking in those views and relaxing after an exciting morning game drive.

Wildlife viewing in this part of the Serengeti is excellent throughout the year. If you’re here for the migration during May/June and November/December Kubu Kubu is strategically positioned in one of the main migration areas so you’ll have front row seats to one of nature’s greatest and most famous spectacles.

When you do decide to leave the comfort of your beautiful bedroom, a world of safari adventure awaits. Kubu Kubu is within easy reach of some of the most famous areas of the Serengeti, the Southern Plains, Seronera Valley, Grumeti River (known for its crocodiles), Olduvai Gorge Museum (where the remains of the earliest known humans were discovered) and the Maasai Kopjes. As an alternative to the daily game drives on offer, guests can also take a hot air balloon safari. Drifting through the blue African skies high above the savannah watching the wildlife grazing down on the endless plains is definitely one of life’s ‘moments’. Afterwards it’s a picnic breakfast out there in the bush. What a way to start the day. Guided tours to visit the Mbuwge tribe are also offered to guests so they can experience the daily life of the Maasai and participate in cultural activities.

The camp is popular with families, with its large tents, pool and options for shorter morning and afternoon game drives instead of long full-on days out.
