A little off the main road to Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, this elegant, wonderfully relaxing property is fast becoming one of the gems of Northern Tanzania which is a serious accolade considering the quality of properties found throughout the region.
The lodge consists of 18 plantation suites and 12 plantation rooms, all of which are en-suite and are designed around the original plantation houses, lavishly furnished with a split-level living area and open fires. All suites are spaced throughout the lush coffee grove to ensure privacy and solitude. One of the nicest features of the suites is the private wooden deck overlooking the plantation, where Vervet monkeys can often be seen clambering around the nearby area.
Whilst Arusha is often skipped entirely or just used as an overnight stop, the majesty of Arusha Coffee Lodge is making it well worth at least a couple of nights at the start or end of an itinerary. The Lodge offers a ‘Coffee Tour’ of the plantation as well as a wide range of treatments at the Peaberries Spa. The onsite bar and restaurants are perfect for dining without having to venture very far.
