A true South Africa highlight
Madikwe Safari Lodge is a property divided into three separate lodges - Lelapa (meaning ‘family), Dithaba (meaning ‘mountain’) and Kopano (meaning ‘small gathering’).
Madikwe Safari Lodge is in a 75000-hectare malaria-free reserve in western South Africa near the Botswana border. The open views that will leave you breathless. Access is effortless road (just four hours) and air (45minute flight from Johannesburg). Madikwe Safari Lodge is part of the family-owned and operated collection of MORE properties.
Be guided on game drives and bush walks by exceptional field rangers, amongst rich biodiversity of mammals, such as Africa’s Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, brown and spotted hyena, oryx, eland, springbok and ostrich. Not to mention the excellent birdwatching with over 350 bird species. The wellness centre offers spa treatments to guest for rejuvenation. Lelapa Lodge - Lelapa literally means ‘family’ - there is no restriction in terms of age or generation and they can host up to 24 people. You can expect warm hospitality, sublime comfort and a compelling charm which will make you want to stay forever. Each of the 12 suites has indoor and outdoor showers, a private plunge pool, wood-burning fireplace, a double bed (convertible to twins), air-conditioning, ceiling fan, bathroom en-suite, safe, mini bar, hairdryer and a range of deluxe amenities. Four of the rooms are Family Suites, and have a second bedroom with children’s bunk beds and sleeper couch.
Kopano Lodge - Kopano directly translated means ‘small gathering’. Each of the four suites are similar to those of Lelapa Lodge, each with a plunge pool! But, no children under 16 years can stay, unless the lodge is booked on an exclusive basis. Fine dining to the hoot of an owl, the roar of a lion or the crazed whoop of a hyena is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Dithaba Lodge - Dithaba means ‘mountain’ in the local dialect because it’s located slightly higher up and has a spectacular view over the open plains. Each of the four suites also have private plunge pool. This Lodge is well suited to a group of friends or family members making it their own while on safari. Or for those who simply prefer the sound of nature and little else.
