On a rocky promontory with a pretty stretch of beach along the east coast of Sao Tome, about 30 minutes' drive from the airport, Club Santana receives good feedback and offers 31 en-suite bungalows, all with air-conditioning and sea view.

Meal plan at the hotel is half board (compulsory) and the required minimum stay is three nights.

The 'sea view bungalows' can each accommodate two adults and one child (maximum age 4). The family bungalows additionally have a living room and are able to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (age up to 12) as well as an extra bed for a 3rd child aged maximum 4.

Overlooking the pretty Messias Alves beach is the Jaqueira Bar & Esplanade, where meals are served and where guests can sip cocktails while enjoying the sea view. Food in Le Club restaurant is very good - fresh produce is utilised and fish is bought from resident fishermen on a daily basis.

The hotel rates include the following services:

*.Boat trip to Santana island (30 minutes)

* Excursions to St Nicholas’ Waterfall and Roça Monte Cafe (Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings)

*.Daily shuttle bus to Sao Tome town (3 shuttle times are operated daily)

.* Access to beach, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and the steam room;

.* Various non-motorised water-based activities (these include snorkelling and double kayaking)

.* Traditional Saturday night dinner with live music by Kalu Mendes

The hotel invites guests to visit their scuba diving centre for which the website is www.atlanticdivingcenter.com . The Atlantic Diving Centre is open daily from 07h00 - 16h00, and offers various activities including PADI dive training courses; scuba dives for PADI- certified divers and diving resort course. Also offered are sailing on hobie-cat, paddling, snorkelling and canoeing.

Guests who want to partake in excursions (for example to see cacao plantations or to go birding or hiking in the rainforests, or to visit craft stalls and small markets) can arrange these at the hotel - management has contact with registered and experienced local guides. The hotel supports the NPO Terra Crioula, which works to improve living conditions of resident people in Santana town and the nearby fishing village. It also supports the NGO MARAPA which aims to protect and monitor marine turtles nesting on Messias Alves beach. (Monitoring is carried out from September to April).

Payment for extras may be settled by cash (euro, U$ dollar) or credit card (Visa and Mastercard both accepted).

As with all Sao Tome and Principe hotels and lodges, the Tourism tax of €3 per person per night must be settled in-country at reception, by guests.
