Spend the first night of your trip in a beautiful boutique hotel overlooking Windhoek before taking to the skies the following morning with a flight down to Sossusvlei. Explore this stunning land of towering red dunes, shimmering salt pans and keep an eye out for the surprisingly abundant desert wildlife. From there you will fly deep in to the barren deserts of Damaraland, home to a large population of desert rhino which you will be able to track on foot – a truly incredible experience. Flying deeper in to the desert you will spend a few days in the Hoanib River valley which is the access point to the breathtaking Skeleton Coast, one of the most iconic parts of Namibia. Continuing the adventure you will fly north to the banks of the Kunene River which marks the border between Namibia and Angola. Explore the river and the surrounding dunes, home to shimmering oases, varied wildlife and the nomadic Himba people.

Fly back to Windhoek for an overnight stay in the city’s best hotel before flying home the following day.

Day 1: Fly to Windhoek

This evening fly overnight to WIndhoek via Johannesburg.

Day 2: Windhoek awaits

Land in to Windhoek at lunchtime where you will be met and transferred in to the city where you will be spending the night at the lovely Olive Exclusive. Day 3: Flying to Sossusvlei

Enjoy breakfast on the terrace before being transferred to the small Eros airport in the heart of Windhoek for your light aircraft flight down to Sossusvlei, one of the most iconic parts of Namibia. As you fly enjoy a birds' eye view of the seemingly endless deserts, interspersed with rugged hillsides, river valleys and vast tracts of farmland. From the airstrip you will be transferred to the gorgeous Little Kulala where you will be spending the next 2 nights. Enjoy an afternoon relaxing in this amazing little lodge, either by the main pool or your own private plunge pool which commands stunning views out over the desert sands. There will be an opportunity to enjoy a late afternoon drive through the private Kulala Reserve which includes a stop for sundowner drinks.

Day 4: Exploring the dunes

This morning will see an early start as you enjoy breakfast before dawn and then set off to explore the towering red sand dunes of Sossusvlei. The Kulala Reserve has its own private gate to the dunes, meaning you will be there before the crowds arrive and can enjoy a few precious, peaceful and private moments in this truly incredible area. Climb the dunes, stroll through the eerily beautiful Dead Vlei and learn more about their formation from your guide. After a Champagne breakfast deep in the desert you will have some time to explore the Sesriem Canyon before heading back to the lodge in time for lunch and then an afternoon relaxing.

Day 5: Damaraland awaits

There will be some time to relax at the lodge this morning before you are collcted and transferred back to the airstrip to catch a flight north to the barren beauty of Damaraland. The flight goes via Swakopmund so you will get an amazing view of the coast as you fly, enjoying seeing the sea to one side of the aircraft and razor-backed dunes descending right the way down to the water's edge on the other. Upon landing you will be met for a transfer through to Desert Rhino Camp, one of Namibia's most beloved properties for a 2 night stay. A wide choice of activities can be enjoyed from the camp or you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the desert.

Day 6: Tracking rhinos

Today will be the chance for you to enjoy what will arguably be the defining experience of your time in Namibia, the chance to track desert adapted rhino. Enjoyed in conjunction with rangers from the Save The Rhino Foundation, these trips are a chance to learn more about these majestic creatures, as well as the incredible work being done by the rangers to help protect them from poaching. Boasting one of the most stable rhino populations in Africa, Namibia is a model for rhino conservation and a day tracking them from Desert Rhino Camp is a must-do experience for anyone looking to enjoy the best of what Namibia has to offer.

Day 7: To The Skeleton Coast

Spend a leisurely morning enjoying the views from the camp before being transferred back to the airstrip for the flight further north in to the heart of the Hoanib River Valley, the perfect access point for exploring The Skeleton Coast. You will be spending 3 nights at Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp, one of the most innovative and desirable properties Namibia has to offer. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the swimming pool and taking in the stunning views that abound wherever you look. The managment team and guides will go through the activities programme on offer and help you plan your days in the region.

Day 8: Soaring over the desert

Start off your day with breakfast in the camp before setting off by 4x4 to explore your way through the Hoanib River Valley and on to the desolate but alluringly beautiful Skeleton Coast. Along the way you will stop at the Klein Oases spring and drive through fields of towering dunes before reaching the coast. Here you can explore shipwrecks, spot wildlife including seals and jackals exploring on the beach and visit the Skeleton Coast Museum. The day will be rounded off by an afternoon flight back to camp which offers a totally different perspective on the region and is a superb way to end your day.

Day 9: Exploring around the camp

Today will see you exploring somewhat closer to base as you head out with your guides to explore the wilds of the Hoanib Valley. Nature drives will offer the opportunity to see desert elephant, giraffe and zebra amongst others. There are a number of wildlife researchers in the area so there may be a chance to spend time with them depending on commitments but your guides are also a fountain of knowledge. In between activities you can enjoy the glorious surroundings of the camp and the warm, natural hospitality for which it is renowned. The cuisine is especially good and belies the remote location of Hoanib.h

Day 10: To the Kunene River

After breakfast you will bid farewell to the beautiful Hoanib Valley and fly way north, right to Namibia's border with Angola where you will be spending 3 nights at the stunning Serra Cafema Camp which sits right on the banks of the Kunene River. This is a land of rolling sand dunes, secret oases surrounded by palm trees and is dominated by the Kunene River where enormous crocodiles sun themselves on the banks. Spend this afternoon relaxing in the camp, enjoying the views out to Angola on the far bank whilst the wonderfully friendly staff serve you food and drink in the sunshine.

Day 11: The wilds of northern Namibia

Start your exploration of the Kunene Region today in the company of your expert local guides. Amongst the activities on offer are guided quad bike rides through the dunes, boat trips on the Kunene River, nature drives, guided walks and visits to see the nomadic Himba people who live in the secluded valleys of the area. In between activities sit back and enjoy the lovely surroundings of the camp and perhaps have a massage as you gaze out over the gently flowing waters of the Kunene River.

Day 12: Explore or relax

Given you will be enjoying a 3 night stay, there will be the chance to enjoy a day trip to the breathtaking Marienfluss Valley, an area of incredible big landscapes and wide open spaces. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the whole country and a truly mesmerising experience as you get a true feeling of the space, peace and tranquility for which Namibia is renowned. Return to camp in the latter part of the afternoon where you will have some time to relax before a final alfresco dinner underneath the stars.

Day 13: Back to Windhoek

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred back to the airstrip for the long flight back down to Windhoek - a final chance to take in the stunning aerial views of the different parts of Namibia that this trip affords. From Eros airport you will be transferred back to the Olive Exclusive Boutique Hotel for a final overnight stay. Enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel or maybe venture out to one of Windhoek's renowned restaurants.
