Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp Overview

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp

One of the most innovative and eco-friendly lodges anywhere in Africa

An oasis of tranquility deep in the heart of the Hoanib Valley

The ideal base for seeing unique desert wildlife as well as exploring the foreboding Skeleton Coast

Found deep in the Hoanib Valley, between the Anabeb, Torra and Sesfontein conservancies, Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious and innovative camp in all of Namibia – a must-visit for those looking to experience the best of what Namibia has to offer.

There are just 8 exquisitely designed tents at the lodge, which were specially built to fit unobtrusively in to their fragile desert surroundings. The tents are raised on decks and have incredibly spacious interiors, with large en-suite bathrooms, indoor sitting areas and a shaded wrap around decking area – perfect for gazing out in to the surrounding deserts. At the main area of the lodge there are plenty of indoor and outdoor lounges, with plenty of soft furnishings, a sparkling swimming pool as well as a bar and dining area. Despite the remote location, the food is exquisite with meals served in a variety of inspiring locations around the camp. Sundowner and after dinner drinks around the camp fire are popular with guests, as are the Olympus cameras and binoculars provided to each tent for their use throughout their stay.

The activities programme is seemingly endless, with drives through the Hoanib Valley to search for desert-adapted wildlife, guided nature walks, star gazing and conservation talks very popular with gusts. Those staying for 3 nights or more can also enjoy day trips, including a one-way flight, to the Skeleton Coast as well as drives further afield in search of rarer desert animals.
