Porini Lion Camp has great location and offers a relaxed traditional bush experience. Located in the excellent private conservancy area, Mara Olare Orok sector to the north of the main Masai Mara Reserve in Southwest Kenya, Porini Lion Camp is a relatively modest facility.
The rustic camp is entirely run on solar-power, embodying the raw wilderness vibe of the surrounding area. Accommodation comprises of ten tents, each with a private terrace and en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower. The camp is centred on a comfortable mess tent containing both lounge and dining areas. Meals are usually served at a large single table, but it is also possible to dine at separate tables or privately under the stars should you wish.
Guided activities are primarily focused on vehicle safari, taking advantage of the rich wildlife of the local area. Drives usually head out early morning and mid-afternoon and last for 3 to 4 hours. Further activities include walking or night safaris or cultural visits to local villages.
