Bateleur Camp, along with its sister Kichwa Tembo Camp is situated on the border of the Masai Mara National Reserve in the Kichwa Tembo area. Set on a private concession leased from Masai landlords, the camp lies at the base of the Oloololo escarpment just below the spot where Karen Blixen’s novel ‘Out of Africa’s’ most famous scene was shot. Step back in time as this intimate camp reflects the ambience of the Kenyan explorers of the 20's and 30's.
Two camps consists of nine spacious tents with shingle roof, wooded doors and a private deck. Each tent is luxuriously furnished with gleaming wooden floors and wooden-framed beds, overhead fan, twin hand basins, shower, en-suite bathroom, cupboards, leather chairs and writing table. Featuring a deep swimming pool and private butlers you experience Kenyan romance and glamour.
Activities include morning or afternoon game drives in an open top Land Rover, as well as night game drives and guided walks on the camp’s grounds. Masai community visits, lectures and hot air ballooning may be arranged at an additional cost.
