With a superb location and amazing variety of activities on offer, Camp Moremi is the perfect choice for those wanting a rounded safari experience
Location: Set beneath a canopy of ancient ebony trees on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon, Camp Moremi offers that classic Okavango feeling: wild, beautiful, and deeply peaceful. This part of Botswana's Moremi Game Reserve is one of our favourites for its mix of woodland, floodplains, and permanent water channels, ideal for both land and water safaris.
Rooms: There are just twelve safari tents, including a generous two-bedroom family suite, tucked privately among the trees. Each one is beautifully done in canvas and timber, with king-sized beds, spacious en-suite bathrooms, and full-length doors that open onto a wide veranda. You’ll love the feeling of space and seclusion. It's not unlikely to spot a bushbuck grazing outside, as you are to curl up with a book.
Amenities: At the heart of camp is a raised thatched lounge, library, and dining area that looks out over the lagoon. This peaceful spot to enjoy coffee before a game drive or an evening drink as the sun sets and one of our favourites. There’s a small but inviting pool perfect for cooling off between game drives. Meals are served either in the open-air boma or out under the stars. It’s all designed to feel relaxed but refined - just the right balance for safari living.
Activities: This is a fantastic all-round safari experience. Morning and afternoon game drives explore the mopane forests and floodplains of Moremi, with chances to see lion, leopard, elephant, and a rich variety of birdlife. Guests love the contrast of boat trips along the waterways, especially at golden hour, when the light softens and the channels come alive with herons, bee-eaters, and the occasional crocodile slipping into the water.
Sustainability: Built with care and conservation in mind, Camp Moremi is solar-assisted and runs with minimal impact on the ecosystem. The lodge also contributes to local employment and skills development, helping to ensure this corner of the Delta remains protected for generations to come.
