Meno A Kwena

Meno A Kwena Tented Camp is situated on the high cliffs overlooking the dry Boteti river, on the very edge of the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Midway between the Botswana’s extraordinary Okavango Delta and the spectacular Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Meno a Kwena tented camp provides guests with a unique African wildlife experience. Southern Africa’s largest remaining zebra and wildebeest herds, dependant on regular drinking water, migrate within the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans ecosystem, and the camp is situated in the midst of this traditional migration route with plentiful wildlife.

Accommodation is in nine mini Meru walk-in tents with two single safari beds, all within an enclosure of thorny branches for safety from wandering wildlife. Each tent has a bucket shower and flushable toilet; which are private but not en-suite (just a few steps away from your tent). It is an experience, in itself, standing under an open Kalahari sky filled with stars or alive with the traffic of riverine birds. Meals are prepared specially for the barbeque and 'tin box oven' cooked on the campfire, adding to the authentic safari experience. The camp has a natural rock plunge pool and viewing tents overlooking the scenic Boteti River and wildlife in the national park.

Activities include game drives, walking safaris, trips to Nxai Pan, Baines Baobabs and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, quad biking and kite sailing in Gweta village, drives and picnics in Makgadikgadi National Park.
