Holidays and doing good (in the traditional ‘support a charitable cause’ sense) are not perfect bedfellows.
You might have a customer base of charity-supporting, Mother Teresa inspired altruists .... but when it comes to choosing a holiday and going on it - what most people are looking for is an ‘escape’ – a mental rest and a break from their normal life, routine and associations
So when you see yet another company purporting to be all about ‘making a difference’ in some way or another, you’d be forgiven for feeling like you’d heard it all before – you probably have!
But Far & Wild reeally is. Pleeeease believe me… I really mean it ☺ !!
No seriously... it's not just about ‘wanting’ it enough. It is about working out HOW.
We think we’ve done that…working out the 'how' I mean. So its now a case of organising our business.. how we relate to our customers, industry peers, and partners on the ground – to make our ideas come to life.
This isn’t a marketing challenge, it's actually a pretty boring and dry operational one. Setting up internal processes that enable us for the next 10 years to consistently engage all the right people, at the right time, with the same consistent ideas. (And of course over time this will become our company culture.)
So anyway enough theory… time to nail our colours to the mast and make some firm commitments.
In the next 10 years we aim to raise $1million (£750k) for mainly small but credible initiatives in the countries we operate in, and with an especial focus on those managed by permanently resident people. Breaking down that target – in the next 5 years our target is $250,000 (£200k).
The simplest way to find out how we’ll do this is to book a holiday with us and join the revolution. Or just speak to any one of our team and they’ll tell you.
