Visit Isabela Island

The centre of the Galapagos, Isabela Island's rugged terrain was formed from the amalgamation of six shield volcanoes, each with its unique character and activity status. Isabela is one of the most volcanically active islands, with eruptions recorded in recent history, making it a geological marvel. You can climb these towering volcanoes, including Sierra Negra, one of the most active in the region. Hiking to the rim of Sierra Negra offers breathtaking panoramic views of the caldera, an absolute must for intrepid travellers.

The town of Puerto Villamil, the largest settlement on the island, offers a taste of local culture and delicious seafood.
