Located in a marine national park and is protected by a reef so swimming is safe all year round and there’s some nice snorkelling within easy reach.
Location
Tucked away on Anse Petite Cour, on Praslin’s northeast coast, Le Domaine de La Réserve feels like a secret retreat. You’ll find it about 10 minutes from Baie Sainte Anne Jetty and roughly 20 minutes from Praslin Airport. The beach is protected by a reef, so the lagoon is calm and perfect for gentle swims and snorkelling.
Rooms
The property has around 40 rooms in total, divided into smart categories to suit different tastes. You’ll find 32 Deluxe Beachfront Rooms, 4 Hillside Superior “Colonial” Rooms, and 4 family-friendly Suites (“Bois d’Amour”) with space for children. All rooms are generously sized, with private terraces or balconies, modern bathrooms (walk-in showers, sunken bathtubs in many beachfront types), air-conditioning, minibar & tea/coffee facilities.
Amenities
Life at Réserve is both easy and elegant. There’s a large swimming pool (one of the biggest on Praslin), a well-appointed spa, two restaurants, and several bars including a beach bar for cocktails at sunset. Guests love lounging by the pool, reading in shady gardens, or enjoying dinner over the reef as yachts bob offshore.
Activities
Because the hotel sits on the Curieuse Marine National Park, snorkelling and kayaking are among its most alluring pastimes. Guests enjoy free snorkelling equipment and kayak access. Boat trips to Curieuse or Saint Pierre, nature walks, and visits to Vallée de Mai offer memorable excursions. On quieter days, simple joys like beach walks, reef-watching, or enjoying local cultural evenings are much loved.
Sustainability
We really admire how Le Domaine de La Réserve weaves care for the environment into its guest experience. Because it’s the only hotel directly within the Curieuse Marine National Park, it gives free park access for guests and supports reef protection. Local sourcing is also a priority; produce and seafood are often from nearby farmers and fishermen. The resort also provides complimentary snorkelling gear to reduce disposable plastic usage.
