MV Matusadona

Located on Lake Kariba, the world’s largest manmade lake, MV Matusadona is the only cruiser of its type in this area. Matusadona National Park, a virtually untouched patch of wilderness, encompasses the lake providing plenty of game viewing opportunities for the cruiser’s guests. A stay on board the Matusadona pairs well with a trip to the world-famous Victoria Falls, or a safari experience at a number of land-based camps and lodges. The boat can be accessed easily from a variety of airstrips and safari lodges.

Located on the lower deck, accommodation consists of three spacious cabins, each with room for two people. The stylish and comfortable bedrooms are beautifully decorated and contain a queen-sized bed and en-suite bathroom facilities. Main areas (on the middle and top decks) include three lounge areas, a library, various dining and breakfast areas, and a gourmet galley. Essentially a travelling hotel, each day brings new experiences as the cruiser moors itself somewhere different every night, giving you plenty of opportunity to explore this stunning area.

Activities include game viewing from the boat and on land. Matusadona National Park is home to a wide range of animals, including the Big Five and crocodiles and hippos inhabit Lake Kariba’s waters. A game viewing pontoon is available to help you get closer to the animals. Trips to land-based areas of Matusadona to do some game viewing are also available. Alternatively, you can also fish in the lake, which is home to a large population of tiger fish or relax on deck and watch one of Kariba’s renowned sunsets. Soaking under the African sky in Matusadona’s outdoor jacuzzi is the perfect end to a busy day.
