Chuini Zanzibar Beach lodge

Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge is located on the west coast of Zanzibar, 12km north of Stone Town. It is a 20-minute drive from the airport and town. The lodge (formerly known as Hakuna Matata) is surrounded by palm trees and has the beautiful Indian Ocean right on the doorstep, making it an idyllic beach getaway.

Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge offers 12 bungalows and one villa. The bungalows are spread across a 1.5 hectare area which helps to create a real sense of privacy. All bungalows are equipped with creature comforts such as air conditioning, ceiling fans and hair dryers, and the private terraces have magnificent sea views. Each bungalow has a spacious bedroom and lounge area with comfortable, contemporary furniture. A butler service is also available to guests who stay in the Premium Bungalows. The Villa has two bedrooms with king size beds and en-suite bathrooms. There is a studio on the first floor where you can enjoy a view over the bay and Stone Town. The restaurant provides first class international and local cuisine, enhanced by a dash of Zanzibar spice and flavour. In addition to the Chuini restaurant there is the Blue Bay Grill Restaurant and Pizzeria, and Ocean Breeze Restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean. For an extra special dining experience, the Swahili Night invites guests to enjoy a romantic dinner in amongst the ruins.

Relaxation is the name of the game at Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge, but there a variety of activities on offer: enjoy a spa treatment with a backdrop of beach and ruins; watch the stars come out from the stargazing platform or take part in a yoga classes or private yoga lessons (available on request). For day trips why not head out to sea on the lodge’s private boat, the Ile Ile, which is available for snorkelling excursions as well as a visit to the private sand bank for a picnic.
