Safari the old-fashioned way (the way it is meant to be!)
Musekese Bush Camp is in the Kafue National Park in a particularly stunning area known as ‘Eden’. The camp is situated on a large dambo (oxbow lagoon) which holds water all year, making it a magnet for wildlife in the area. The camp is open from May to December.
The camp accommodation consists of four well appointed, traditionally thatched chalets which have been decorated in a rustic, safari style. Each chalet has a private veranda which directly faces the dambo. Imaginative en-suite bathrooms have traditional wood-warmed bucket showers and flushing porcelain toilets, combining that authentic safari feel with home comforts. The camp centres around the ‘boma’ deck which is a great spot to simply relax between activities and enjoy the view.
Activities include game drives and walking safaris on the unique Kafue plains, renowned for their dry season concentrations of buffaloes, lechwes, lions and cheetahs. Further activities include, birding walks and photography hides. The camp has two purpose-built safari boats which can produce some exciting leopard sightings and the chance of seeing elephants crossing.
