Safari the old-fashioned way (the way it is meant to be!)
Location
Hidden deep within the remote wilderness of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, Musekese Bush Camp offers a quietly remarkable safari experience. Set above a peaceful lagoon teeming with wildlife, it feels like stepping into your own private slice of the bush. You will love how off-the-beaten-path and far from the crowds it is.
Rooms
The five spacious tents, thoughtfully raised on wooden platforms, look out across the water and onto open grassland where antelope, elephants, and even big cats pass by. Inside, the style is unpretentious yet comfortably elegant: natural materials, soft linens, and en-suite bathrooms with warm bucket showers and flush loos.
Amenities
You’ll find a relaxed central lounge and dining area tucked beneath a huge jackalberry tree, with a campfire nearby for drinks and stories under the stars. There’s also a hide by the water’s edge for those quieter moments of observation, whether you’re into photography or just love watching nature up close.
Activities
Days here are shaped by what the bush offers. You’ll head out with some of Zambia’s most passionate and knowledgeable guides on game drives, bush walks, or tranquil boat safaris. Guests love the pace here - nothing rushed, nothing forced, just time to explore and absorb.
Sustainability
Musekese is one of the most conservation-focused camps we’ve come across. Founders Phil and Tyrone are hands-on in the field, running Musekese Conservation, a frontline initiative that protects an Intensive Protection Zone of around 2,700 km² using solar-powered anti-poaching units and ranger teams trained in collaboration with Zambia’s Department of National Parks & Wildlife, Panthera, Zambian Carnivore Programme, and Game Rangers International.
