Perched on gently rolling terrain, the villa delivers sweeping views of the iconic Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes. With this privileged positioning, guests enjoy both the solitude of a remote sanctuary and immediate access to the jungle trails and conservation landscapes of Rwanda's Virunga region.

Shared spaces include a private cinema, wine cellar, open-plan fully-equipped kitchen, gym and a dedicated massage treatment room. Outside, there are two heated plunge pools, a fire-pit for alfresco fireside evenings, and expansive lounge and dining areas. The onsite Akarabo Garden grows fresh vegetables and herbs for the kitchen, enabling a true farm-to-table approach to cuisine.

Within the villa's grounds, guided nature walks, bird-watching tours, cooking classes and wine tastings are curated to immerse guests in both the natural and cultural richness of the region. Off-site excursions can be arrange to Musanze Caves, local villages, cultural music and dance performances, and even volcanic summits for panoramic hikes.
Sustainability: Every aspect of Kataza House reflects Singita's One Planet sustainability principles. The villa was constructed using locally sourced volcanic rock, river stone, clay bricks and FSC-certified timber, with passive-design techniques, solar-thermal heating and air-source heat pumps delivering around 43% energy savings. The villa site was rehabilitated with native vegetation, complementing reforestation efforts across Singita's Volcanoes concession, including planting over 250,000 indigenous saplings. Local employment is central: 90 per cent of construction and ongoing staff are Rwandan, and the villa sources the majority of its food and materials from local suppliers. Guests are invited into conservation education experiences, tree nursery tours and community cultural interaction, reinforcing Singita's ethos that luxury and sustainability go hand in hand.
