The itinerary…
Day 1: Guatemala City – Antigua
On arrival in Guatemala City, you will receive a warm welcome before transferring to Antigua. This UNESCO World Heritage site enchants visitors with its colonial charm and picturesque surroundings where cobblestone streets wind past vibrant markets, historic churches, and colourful facades. The town is surrounded by three towering volcanoes, for a scenic backdrop. Antigua is a must visit destination in the region. Spend 2 nights at the boutique Posada del Angel.
Day 2: Antigua walking tour
Discover Antigua's charm on a guided walk through its colonial treasures. Delve into its history as the heart of Spanish influence. Beginning at the central plaza, explore the Palacio de Capitanes, City Hall, and El Portal. Your guide shares insights on colonisation, Guatemala’s past, and present. Visit the Cathedral’s and San Francisco church backstage, revealing Antigua's rich heritage in just one memorable stroll.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Atitlan & Iximche visit

Founded in 1470 by the Kaqchikel Maya, it served as their capital until the Spanish arrival in 1524. Day 4: San Juan & Santiago village tour

Transfer to Guatemala City through the scenic highlands for your flight to Flores. Here, you will be welcomed and taken to the Jungle Lodge, located adjacent to the entrance to the famous Tikal National Park. The lodge is immersed in nature, a peaceful base ideal for exploration.
Day 6: Tikal
Experience the grandeur of Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic archaeological sites of the ancient Mayan civilisation. Explore towering pyramids, intricate temples, and lush jungle surroundings as you immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of this ancient city. Marvel at the wildlife that calls Tikal home, from howler monkeys to colourful toucans, adding to the mystical ambiance.
Day 7: Yaxha full day tour & transfer to Belize
Discover the wonders of Yaxha, an archaeological gem and ancient ceremonial hub of the Mayan civilisation nestled in the northeast of Peten. This site seamlessly blends archaeology, stunning landscapes, and ecological tourism, with over 500 structures, including 40 steles, 13 altars, and 9 pyramids. Your guide will unveil the layout and key temples before enjoying a picnic lunch amidst this historical backdrop. Following lunch, transfer to the Belize Border where you will change vehicles and continue to Black Rock Lodge, your base for the next 2 nights.
Day 8: Cave tubing and ziplining

Ambergris Caye is Belize's largest island, renowned for its pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and laid-back Caribbean atmosphere. Dive into turquoise waters teeming with marine life, unwind on sandy shores, or stroll along charming streets lined with colourful buildings and lively restaurants, capturing the essence of island paradise.
Day 10 & 11: Ambergris Caye
Days to relax or explore this tropical paradise. Dive into the mesmerising depths of the famous Blue Hole or snorkel alongside exotic marine life at Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Or simply, unwind with fresh seafood and cocktails by the Caribbean Sea, savouringly the moment in peaceful Caribbean island.
Day 12: Ambergris Caye - Belize City
Return to Belize City, and connect with your international departure.

January
January is dry season with prolonged periods of sunshine, particularly in the north and central regions. A great time to travel which means the country will be busy, so we recommend planning in advance.
February
Similar to February with great weather and very little rain its one of the best months to travel throughout the region.
March
The dry season continues, with low humidity so another great month to explore all regions of Belize and relax on beautiful Caribbean beaches.
April
In April the weather in the Cayo District and on the Cayes remains predominantly dry, although the heat and humidity gradually increases. Easter is a busy time, so booking in advance is essential.
May
Very similar to April, although there are less visitors and there may be the occassional shower with the start of the wet season approaching.
June
The rains start however most days are usually short sharp showers in the afternoon and early evening. Perrsistent rainfall is rare. Mid-June is the start of lobster season and a great time to sample the dish along the country's coast in destinations like Ambergris Caye and Placencia.
July
Very similar to July, with a similar amount of rain combined with sunshine. Most destinations will be warm with a high level of humidity.
August
The height of the rainy season with high humidity, heavy rain and the risk of tropical storms and even hurricanes. These are particularly prevalent in the coastal regions.
September
Another wet month and not very enjoyable for travel with some remote roads flooded. Due to a low number of visitors at this time, some lodges and hotels will close for annual maintenance.
October
Rainy conditions continue with wet days, high humidity and generally not the ideal time to visit and enjoy Belize.
November
The wet season and humidity are easing off with drier days on the horizon. This is a good time to visit the interior and coast before tourist numbers increase in December.
December
A great time to travel to Belize with sunny, dry days although hotels over the Christmas & New Year break will often be booked for months in advance.
