Victoria House Resort & Spa exudes a family-friendly charm, reminiscent of British colonial times but with a refreshing informality.
Location
Set on the southern end of Ambergris Caye, Victoria House Resort & Spa enjoys a peaceful stretch of coastline just a short distance from the lively town of San Pedro. Positioned directly on a white-sand beach and facing the Belize Barrier Reef, the setting strikes a balance between accessibility and seclusion. The resort is surrounded by coconut palms and tropical gardens, with the reef just offshore, making it an ideal base for both relaxation and marine exploration.
Rooms
Accommodation is varied and thoughtfully designed, with 42 rooms ranging from simple yet elegant staterooms to spacious suites, casitas and private beachfront villas. For those seeking a more exclusive stay, villas provide multiple bedrooms, private pools and direct beach access, making them particularly well suited to families or longer stays.
Across all categories, interiors reflect a refined Caribbean style, with handcrafted mahogany furniture, soft white fabrics and local artwork.
Facilities
There are two swimming pools, including an infinity-edge pool overlooking the sea, alongside a private beach with loungers and full service.
Dining centres around the Palmilla Restaurant, offering a more refined experience, while Admiral Nelson’s Beach Bar provides a casual, sociable setting by the water.
The spa is one of the largest on Ambergris Caye, complemented by a fitness centre and a full range of wellness treatments.
A fully equipped on-site dive centre makes marine excursions easy to arrange, while additional facilities include complimentary bicycles and kayaks, concierge services, a tour desk, and beautifully maintained gardens and terraces.
Activities
The proximity to the Belize Barrier Reef defines much of the experience. Guests can snorkel, dive or take boat trips directly from the resort, with highlights including the Great Blue Hole and Shark Ray Alley. Fishing, sailing and paddleboarding are also popular, while complimentary kayaks and bicycles allow for more relaxed exploration along the coast.
Beyond the island, excursions to mainland Belize open up a different landscape entirely, with visits to Maya temples, cave systems, zip-lining and rainforest adventures all easily arranged.
Sustainability
A key focus is responsible marine tourism. With the Belize Barrier Reef located just offshore, the resort’s on-site dive centre facilitates guided, controlled access to fragile reef ecosystems, helping ensure that snorkelling and diving activities are conducted with awareness of conservation practices. The resort also promotes low-impact activities such as kayaking and cycling, reducing reliance on motorised excursions where possible.

January
January is dry season with prolonged periods of sunshine, particularly in the north and central regions. A great time to travel which means the country will be busy, so we recommend planning in advance.
February
Similar to January with great weather and very little rain its one of the best months to travel throughout the region.
March
The dry season continues, with low humidity so another great month to explore all regions of Belize and relax on beautiful Caribbean beaches.
April
In April the weather in the Cayo District and on the Cayes remains predominantly dry, although the heat and humidity gradually increases. Easter is a busy time, so booking in advance is essential.
May
Very similar to April, although there are less visitors and there may be the occasional shower with the start of the wet season approaching.
June
The rains start however most days are usually short sharp showers in the afternoon and early evening. Perrsistent rainfall is rare. Mid-June is the start of lobster season and a great time to sample the dish along the country's coast in destinations like Ambergris Caye and Placencia.
July
Very similar to July, with a similar amount of rain combined with sunshine. Most destinations will be warm with a high level of humidity.
August
The height of the rainy season with high humidity, heavy rain and the risk of tropical storms and even hurricanes. These are particularly prevalent in the coastal regions.
September
Another wet month and not very enjoyable for travel with some remote roads flooded. Due to a low number of visitors at this time, some lodges and hotels will close for annual maintenance.
October
Rainy conditions continue with wet days, high humidity and generally not the ideal time to visit and enjoy Belize.
November
The wet season and humidity are easing off with drier days on the horizon. This is a good time to visit the interior and coast before tourist numbers increase in December.

A great time to travel to Belize with sunny, dry days although hotels over the Christmas & New Year break will often be booked for months in advance.
