The rainy season lasts from May to October, but good weather can still be found through mid to late August, with typical days featuring sunny mornings and afternoon showers. May – October
Belize’s rainy season begins in May, bringing warmer temperatures and brief afternoon or evening showers, often lasting only a few hours. Mornings remain sunny, and the increased rainfall means fewer tourists and lower prices. Mid-June kicks off lobster season, drawing seafood lovers to popular areas like Ambergris Caye and Placencia.
By mid to late August, the rains intensify, and humidity rises, particularly in the jungle regions. While Belize is located far enough south to avoid most hurricanes, there is still a small risk during this period. September and October experience the heaviest rains, marking the low season for tourism. Many hotels close for maintenance during these months due to the persistent rainfall.
November – December:
Belize’s dry season begins in November, with a significant reduction in rainfall and lower humidity. By December, the holiday season is in full swing, with many hotels heavily booked and visitor numbers high.
