Enter an island sanctuary where the ocean beckons you to come live & love at one of the finest Maldives luxury resorts

Location
You’ll find Amaya Kuda Rah in the South Ari Atoll of The Maldives, about a 25-minute seaplane flight from Malé. This part of the Maldives is famed for its marine life, especially the chance to spot whale sharks and manta rays year-round. The island itself is small and intimate, fringed by powdery white sand and surrounded by turquoise water.

Rooms
With just 51 villas, the resort feels wonderfully personal. Beach Villas open directly onto the sand, with shaded verandas to catch the sea breeze, while Water Villas sit over the lagoon with steps into the ocean. The Pool Villas, both overwater and beachside, add private infinity pools with uninterrupted views, perfect for a quiet dip at sunset. Interiors are contemporary yet warm, with natural tones and plenty of space.

Amenities
The resort may be small, but it offers plenty of comforts. There’s a main restaurant serving international and Maldivian dishes, plus a pool bar for cocktails and light bites. The spa is a sanctuary of calm, with treatments inspired by Asian traditions. Guests also enjoy the infinity pool, dive centre, and water sports, while children are looked after at the kids’ club, giving parents time to relax.

Activities
South Ari Atoll is one of the best places in the Maldives for diving and snorkelling, and the resort makes the most of it with daily excursions. Guests love swimming with whale sharks, exploring coral gardens, and joining sunset cruises to spot dolphins. For those who prefer to stay on land, there are beach games, cooking classes, and the simple joy of watching the sun dip below the horizon.

Sustainability
Amaya Kuda Rah is dedicated to protecting its island home. The resort takes steps to reduce its environmental footprint by managing waste, conserving water, and limiting plastic use. Marine conservation is a focus, with responsible snorkelling and diving practices designed to protect the reef and its inhabitants.

January

January is one of the most popular times to visit the Maldives, with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures its great for a beach holiday - if you love snorkelling and diving the visibility is high thanks to the calm weather conditions.

February

Much like January, temperatures in February stay at a steady 30 degrees, the combination of beautiful weather conditions and good watersports making it a great time to visit, especially if you love sea life.

March

March experiences high temperatures and low humidity levels, making it the perfect time for a beach holiday.

April

April is another great month to travel, with sunny, warm days. During the end of the month there is an increased risk of rain.

May

Temperatures in May remain warm with long periods of sunshine, but with the start of the South West Monsoon season rains and storms are likely. The unsettled weather, means there is lower visibility, so diving and snorkelling isn't as good as previous months.

June

During June, temperatures remain warm with sunny days. With the chances of rain and storms increasing it gives guests a perfect excuse to explore the islands' spas and facilities.

July

The South West Monsoon season continues into July, meaning rains are probable despite the warm sunny days.

August

Weather remains the same in August, and the lower prices and attractive offers make it a great time to visit.

September

Weather remains the same in September, and the lower prices and attractive offers make it a great time to visit.

October

As with preceding months, warm temperatures and sunshine are balanced with increased rain showers and storms. During October is a great time to spot whale sharks and manta rays as they come to feed on the increased plankton in the Indian Ocean.

November

As with preceding months, warm temperatures and sunshine are balanced with increased rain showers and storms. During November is a great time to spot whale sharks and manta rays.

December

Early December can present good value for money before the festive peak, as with previous months the weather can be unpredictable with increasing storms and rain showers.
