This enchanting boutique resort is in the fabulous hills above the coastal villages of Black River and La Gaulette on the south west of the island, the Lodge is a unique alternative to many larger resorts. Made up of just 20 individually decorated rooms, suites and villas scattered around the main building. Each room has an ethnic influence in its furniture and its decoration: China, Africa, India, or simply tropical, with open-air bathrooms, they are set in a beautiful site of the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site. In this region, the World Wild Life Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot.
