Forest Floor Lodge

Location
Forest Floor Lodge sits right inside Cat Tien National Park, overlooking the fast-moving Ben Cu Rapids and surrounded by dense, tropical forest. It’s reached by a short ferry across the Dong Nai River, which adds to the sense of seclusion. The setting is ideal for spotting wildlife, hearing the jungle wake up at dawn, and enjoying the park’s rich natural beauty.

Rooms
There are just a handful of rooms here, set either in elevated safari-style tents or traditional wooden bungalows. Both options are en suite, with air conditioning or fans, mosquito nets, and views of the river or forest canopy. The safari tents sit on raised platforms with private balconies, while the wooden houses offer a rustic yet cosy jungle feel.

Amenities
There’s a relaxed open-air restaurant and bar that sits right above the rapids—a lovely spot for breakfast or an evening drink. Food is a mix of local Vietnamese dishes and familiar Western favourites. Wi-Fi is limited and electricity may be turned off during certain hours, but that’s part of the experience here: nature first, distractions few.

Activities
This is the perfect base for guided treks, gibbon-watching at dawn, birding tours and river kayaking. Night safaris, visits to the nearby primate rescue centre, and cycling through the forest are all on offer. The lodge works closely with expert local guides who are passionate about the park and its wildlife.

Sustainability
Built with care for its surroundings, Forest Floor Lodge uses reclaimed materials, raised walkways, and low-impact design to tread lightly on the forest. As part of Cat Tien’s conservation effort, the lodge directly supports the park’s environmental and educational work while offering guests a meaningful connection to Vietnam’s natural heritage.
