Made for curious families

An action-packed journey through Japan’s highlights, combining cultural wonders with family-friendly fun.

We designed this trip for families who want to see Japan’s headline sights, but with all the detail and support that makes travelling with children feel effortless. It’s full of hands-on activities, expert-led tours, and plenty of wow moments for all ages – from samurai encounters to sushi-making, from bullet trains to rollercoasters.

For us, this itinerary is all about variety and connection: a blend of modern cities and ancient towns, iconic cultural experiences and pure family fun – all stitched together in a smooth, well-paced journey.

Nia, our Japan specialist, says:

“This is such a brilliant trip for families – especially if it’s your first time in Japan. There’s loads to see and do, but it never feels too hectic. I’ve built in time to explore properly, not just tick things off. Families love the mix of interactive experiences, from cycling and cooking classes to a day at Universal Studios Japan. Plus, the accommodation’s chosen for comfort, space, and convenience – with a few special touches to make it memorable.”

Starting in Tokyo, we dive into the city’s futuristic energy – visiting vibrant neighbourhoods, hands-on museums, and historic temples. A local guide will help you navigate it all with ease, adding personal insight and keeping younger travellers engaged.

Next, it’s on to Kyoto for a dose of traditional Japan – think golden temples, geisha districts, and peaceful gardens. You’ll have time to roam the narrow streets, try your hand at calligraphy or kimono dressing, and enjoy a slower pace in this culturally rich city.

Then we head west to Osaka, Japan’s kitchen – a dynamic, food-loving city that’s also home to Universal Studios Japan. It’s a great reward after cultural days, with a bit of theme park magic thrown in.

This trip is designed to offer the best of Japan in a way that works beautifully for families – thoughtfully planned, expertly guided, and packed with unforgettable moments you’ll be talking about for years.
