The Highlands is set in the wild landscape of the northern reaches of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, beautiful volcanic terrain surrounds this stylish camp, crisscrossed by ancient Maasai trails that link traditional bomas.
Inventive dome-shaped tents provide panoramic views from transparent fronts, whilst inside warmth and modern amenities provide a wonderful sanctuary. Just eight of these tents dot the volcanic slopes, each one featuring king size beds, en-suite facilities, a wood-burning stove and hot running water. The Honeymoon suite boasts a hot tub veranda, perfect for watching the sunset with a glass of bubbly.
The heart of the camp is an authentic indoor fireplace designed to emulate the traditional East African campfire experience. Delve into the library or enjoy a drink from the extensive bar and unwind in comfort and style at the end of each day.
Whilst located away from the crater rim, The Highlands offers excellent access to the northern side of the Ngorongoro Crater. Local wildlife includes, Lion, Elephant, Leopard and Black Rhino. Activities available include game drives on the crater floor, nature walks on the Olmoti volcano, hikes into the Empakaai Crater and visits to local Maasai communities.
