Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge

Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa with excellent birding and home to the Big 5. It spans an area of 96,000 hectares ranging from sub-tropical valleys and rivers to grasslands with huge diversity of flora and fauna. The park is best known for saving the white rhino from extinction through Operation Rhino which saved the few remaining white rhino from the brink of extinction, with numbers now reaching over 1,000 in the park.

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge offers luxury Hluhluwe game reserve accommodation high on a ridge overlooking the hills and valleys of the reserve. The four room types are: two Honeymoon Villas offering total seclusion nestled in the indigenous bush with private plunge pools; eight Luxury Bush Villas expansive open plan bedrooms with lounge area, fireplace, mini bar, full bathroom and large viewing deck; four Safari Rooms with private shower room leading onto deck area; two Safari Family Suites ideal for families travelling with children. The lodge also boasts an 11m infinity lap pool overlooking the bush, a stylish bar and lounge with traditional fireplace seating area to rest after dinners.

Activities focus on twice daily (morning and evening) game drives in open 4-wheel drive vehicles, both on private gravel concession roads and Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park roads. Guided bush walks lasting three-four hours inside the park in Big 5 territory are available on request. Visits into the local Mpembeni Community and "Sangoma" can be arranged. The Centenary Capture Centre & Museum situated near Nyalazi Gate are well worth a visit. For those wanting rest and rejuvenation, the in-house Organic Spa has magnificent views over the reserve and not only benefits guests but also the local community.
