Lion Sands is an exclusive award-winning Private Game Reserve and is the only private reserve to have access to the Sabie River, which it shares with the Kruger National Park. With ten kilometres of riverfront and a consistently professional safari philosophy, Lion Sands offers you a fantastic opportunity to see and learn about a diverse range of wildlife. The Lion Sands River Lodge is the soul of Lion Sands and has been built on the banks of the Sabie River, positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. Here you are invited to relax and experience African hospitality at its finest.
Accommodation at Lion Sands River Lodge is in 20 thatched rooms overlook the unfenced African bush, or the Sabie River. Twelve Luxury Rooms have en-suite bathrooms, a lounge area with mini bar and a wooden deck from which to appreciate the wilds beyond. Six Superior Luxury Rooms are larger in size, and have ample open-plan bathrooms and outdoor showers. Four of the six Suites are inter-leading, and are therefore ideal for families. Two River Suites are located further from the guest areas and are therefore more private. They have incredible river views, best appreciated from the expansive decks with outdoor showers. The lodge also boasts two swimming pools.
Activities include game drives, river tours and bush walks in search of the Big 5. The award-winning Lion Sands offers you a fantastic opportunity to see and learn about a diverse range of wildlife in incredible surroundings. You also can dine out amongst the wildlife with Bush breakfasts, Safari lunches and Bush dinners. And if you are feeling the need to be at one with nature and your surroundings there is a superb tree-house that can be booked for a once in a lifetime bush experience.
