A unique, rustic and natural-feeling lodge, quite unlike any others in the region
Tassia Lodge is set on a rocky outcrop on a ridge in the Il Ngwesi Valley area of north-central Kenya. It is a unique, rustic and natural-feeling lodge, quite unlike any others in the Laikipia region.
The six rooms at Tassia all have a different feeling, the design working around the rocks and trees already present at the time of building. Each room is exceptionally private, two of which are well suited for families as they can take an extra bed. Each room is completely open sided, with great views from the bed, shower and bathroom. It isn’t every day you can watch elephants while enjoying a refreshing shower! Tassia’s open sided communal areas afford magnificent views over the acacia-filled valley below. The lodge also includes a horizon swimming pool with a sunbathing deck, dining room, bar, chill out and deck area and roof top platform.
The range of activities includes walking safari, horseback safari, mountain hikes, vehicle safari, bush meals and cultural interactions like a Tassia Masai Olympics. The day-to-day activities are very much tailored to suit the mix of guests in camp, but usually there is plenty of walking. Game drives are possible, but Tassia has only one vehicle for guests, and there are only a couple of roads that can be used. Activities that don’t impact on the environment are preferred.
