No-frills bungalows in spacious gardens not far from Gondar airport
Just a five-minute drive from Gondar Airport, the mid-range and rustic Mayleko is arguably the town's best accommodation.
The 17 bungalows (21 rooms) have been constructed using reclaimed hardwoods and recycled materials. They are set in rows within spacious grounds. The rooms are airy, and furniture has a traditional design. Bathrooms are en-suite and simply designed with shower. From the restaurant terrace there are panoramic views of the mountains. The lodge has a pool and driving range.
From Mayleko Lodge guests can take part in horse riding or hiking through the fascinating landscape, or visit the ancient castle of Fasilides just 15km from the lodge.
