For three nights you’ll stay at Last Word Constantia (bed and breakfast) – a 5-star boutique hotel in the sophisticated suburb of Constantia. With a backyard of wine estates to explore and gastronomic delights to sample around every corner, this beautiful property is a real hidden gem and a favourite of our South Africa expert Peter.
Cape Town needs no introduction to most and has a myriad of activities to do and places to explore; climb Table Mountain, spend time with the resident penguins of Boulders Beach or discover colourful Bo Kaap
After three nights exploring Cape Town, it's time to make the short, 90km self-driven journey to Franschhoek in the famous Winelands of South Africa for a three nights stay at Last Word Franschhoek (Bed and Breakfast).
This beautiful region is undoubtedly South Africa's gourmet capital and is awash with at least 30 wine estates and countless world-class eateries, craft beer breweries and elegant boutiques to explore - we hope you've brought your appetite to explore.
Franschhoek is named after the French Huguenot settlers how came to the region in 1688, is it any surprise that the area has become a culinary hot spot. One activity which is a must for your list is the famed Franschhoek Wine Tram, which negates the need to drive between wineries or hire a guide, and it’s a superb way to spend a day.
After three nights exploring as much as Franschhoek has to offer that you can, it time to return to Cape Town, but your journey isn't over yet - next, you will stay for three nights (Bed and Breakfast) at Last Word Long Beach.
With its endless beach views, fresh air, a backdrop of Chapmans Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean in front of you, you might be tempted to stay a little longer. Relax on your balcony, perfectly chilled drink in hand, and drift off to the hypnotic sounds of life at the beach – perfectly calming.
It feels remote, yet is close to nearby restaurants and many popular attractions like Cape Point Nature Reserve. A great location for long walks on the beach and serene sunsets. The tranquillity of Long Beach and the surrounding area is a perfect place to unwind and finish off your journey around the region – you won’t be blamed for feeling a little spoiled and contemplating a return sooner rather than later.
