Charlie and Naomi are two budding adventurers who have set off on an epic journey, cycling from the Equator in Kenya to Cape Town. Along the way, they are raising money for the Egmont Trust, which supports grassroots organisations that alleviate the devastating impact of HIV & AIDS on vulnerable children and their families in sub-Saharan Africa.
Naomi & Charlies route takes them through 7 countries, will last around 120 days, and covers 7,447 KM! It's an amazing journey that will show them some of the best of Africa, a hugely varied landscape, and I'm sure the odd animal encounter. Their adventure takes them through Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi,Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, and finally South Africa.
They have some fantastic kit that will hopefully serve them well on their journey, and we at Far & Wild are trying to do our bit too. We'll be monitoring the progress of the couple as they progress south through the wilds of Africa helping where we can to give them a bit of rest-bite at one of our partners lodges or hotels so they can get a good nights sleep before the next days ride.
For more information on their ride, and to donate to the Egmont Trust, visit their website - www.equatortocape.com
We wish them the best of luck and will be posting updates along their journey.
