Day 1 Welcome to Uruguay!

Staying at Posada Plaza Mayor

You’ll be greeted by your English-speaking guide at the airport in Montevideo to transfer to Colonia or at the port of Colonia. Today includes a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Colonia del Sacramento. The towns magical history remains intact and as you walk along the charming, cobbled streets, discover the old city gate, Portón de Campo and the historical street, Calle de los Suspiros (Street of Sighs), the lovely town squares and the local church of Iglesia Matriz.

Day 2 Wine tour in Carmelo

El Legado Winery is a popular stop on the Colonia Wine Route in Uruguay. Start with a delightful tasting of three distinct wines from the region, paired with a delicious variety of cheeses and cold meats. Following this, you will be guided through the vineyard, offering insights into the rich history of the winery and the surrounding region. Gain in-depth knowledge about the entire winemaking process, including a unique production system known as "vertical free vine driving," an exclusive and distinctive feature in Uruguay.

Our journey continues to Bodega Cordano, a charming family-run winery currently overseen by Ana Paula Cordano and her husband, representing the 5th generation of the family. Your visit encompasses a guided tour of the production areas and vineyards, with a special stop at 'Almacén de la Capilla,' a vintage grocery shop established in 1855 by Antonio Cordano. The experience concludes with a delightful tasting of three of their finest wines, accompanied by a delicious homemade lunch.
