Day 1: Departure time!
Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Montevideo in Uruguay.
Day 2: Welcome to Uruguay!
You’ll be greeted by your English-speaking guide at the airport in Montevideo to transfer to Colonia or at the port of Colonia. Today includes a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Colonia del Sacramento. The towns magical history remains intact and as you walk along the charming, cobbled streets, discover the old city gate, Portón de Campo and the historical street, Calle de los Suspiros (Street of Sighs), the lovely town squares and the local church of Iglesia Matriz.
Day 3: Wine tour in Carmelo
El Legado Winery is a popular stop on the Colonia Wine Route in Uruguay. Start with a delightful tasting of three distinct wines from the region, paired with a delicious variety of cheeses and cold meats. Following this, you will be guided through the vineyard, offering insights into the rich history of the winery and the surrounding region. Gain in-depth knowledge about the entire winemaking process, including a unique production system known as "vertical free vine driving," an exclusive and distinctive feature in Uruguay.
Our journey continues to Bodega Cordano, a charming family-run winery currently overseen by Ana Paula Cordano and her husband, representing the 5th generation of the family. Your visit encompasses a guided tour of the production areas and vineyards, with a special stop at 'Almacén de la Capilla,' a vintage grocery shop established in 1855 by Antonio Cordano. The experience concludes with a delightful tasting of three of their finest wines, accompanied by a delicious homemade lunch.
Day 4: Transfer to Pizzorno Winery
The Pizzorno family, now in its fourth generation, upholds a cherished wine making legacy that began over a century ago. Nestled amid beautiful vineyards, the estate offers an exceptional gastronomic experience and exclusive wines. Your stay includes a Masterclass with wine tasting alongside a paired three-course lunch.
Day 5: Onto the beach at Jose Ignacio
Return to coastal Uruguay and the beach area of Jose Ignacio, a traditional fishing area transformed into a bohemian enclave of ‘rustic elegance’. Surrounded by three beaches, the charming town is restricted to low level properties.
Relax at charming Mediterranean-style boutique hotel, Posada del Faro, situated near the lighthouse and a mere 50 metres from its own beach area on Playa Mansa. The perfect blend of coastal charm and comfortable elegance.
Day 6: Explore Punta del Este & Casapueblo
Embark on a picturesque journey through Punta del Este, often referred to as the Saint Tropez of Latin America. The scenic drive takes you through residential areas like San Rafael, Cantegrill, and Punta del Este's distinctive wavy bridges. Perched on a high rocky peninsula, Casapueblo is a sculptured museum often dubbed the "Santorini" of Latin America and the terraces of Casapueblo provide unparalleled views of Punta Del Este. The complex is truly one-of-a-kind in South America, featuring winding, cave-like corridors adorned with a rich collection of artefacts, paintings, and sculptures by Paez Vilaró.
Day 7: Jose Ignacio
The village of Jose Ignacio features stunning sandy beaches, including Playa Brava with its powerful waves on the Atlantic Ocean side and Playa Mansa with calmer waters on the Rio de la Plata side. Both are popular for sunbathing, water sports, and enjoying beautiful sunsets.
Visit iconic Jose Ignacio Lighthouse, situated at the peninsula's tip, offering panoramic views of the surrounding coastline or dine in an upscale restaurant serving fresh seafood and delectable dishes, often with beachside settings.
Day 8: Montevideo

Day 9: Depart Montevideo
