From its architectural elegance to its world-class included experiences, Saffire Freycinet is Australia’s most luxurious coastal wilderness escape.
Location:
Saffire Freycinet sits on Tasmania’s stunning east coast, in Coles Bay, within Freycinet National Park. It overlooks Great Oyster Bay with uninterrupted views of the Hazards Mountains and access to world‑class coastal scenery. It’s about a two and a half hour drive from Hobart, the capital of Australia's island state, or two hours from Launceston, with optional private air and chauffeured transfers also available.
Rooms:
The lodge offers just 20 spacious guest suites across three categories: Luxury Suites, Signature Suites and Private Pavilions. Luxury Suites feature Tasmanian timber furnishings and generous living areas. Signature Suites add larger lounge decks and bathrooms overlooking the bay. Private Pavilions include separate bedrooms, dining space, kitchen and a courtyard with plunge pool.
Amenities:
All-inclusive stays include three gourmet meals daily at Palate Restaurant, selected beverages, minibar, Wi‑Fi and a credit for Spa Saffire treatments. Guests also have access to the lounge and bar, a library, reading spaces and in-suite dining options.
Activities:
A wide range of complimentary signature experiences are included, from guided walks and oyster‑farm tours to mixology classes, archery, beekeeping, mountain biking, kayaking and wildlife encounters such as the Tasmanian devil experience, pelican bay bird watching and Wineglass Bay lookout walks.
Sustainability:
Built on a reclaimed caravan‑park site, Saffire is rooted in environmental restoration, revegetating with 30,000 native plants and using rainwater collection, fire‑management planning and minimal night‑lighting. The architecture is designed with local timber, stone and low‑reflectivity glass to blend with the coastal sanctuary setting. Saffire actively supports Tasmanian raptor rehabilitation and Tasmanian devil conservation through partnerships and guest education.

Northern Australia is dry and sunny: visit Darwin’s Mindil Markets, Kakadu, and Arnhem Land. Enjoy stargazing at Uluru or explore the Great Barrier Reef islands.
September
Spring blooms in Western Australia’s wildflower regions. Visit Perth, Rottnest Island, or Margaret River. Sydney warms up, perfect for harbour cruises and coastal walks
