A unique venue that seems to grow organically from the ground
Chongwe River House is a beautifully designed private house located approximately 1km away from Chongwe River Camp. Inspired by the towering termite mounds, the unique look of this house will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into another world: branches seem to grow from the walls and the ceilings are embedded with soft pebbles from the Chongwe river.
The accommodation can sleep a maximum of eight guests in four spacious, en-suite bedrooms. The rooms are equipped with either king-size or twin beds and are arranged on two floors with their own private outdoor sitting area. The luxurious bathrooms feature innovative showers that mimic the waterfalls of the upper river. For meals guests can choose to eat at the magnificent, hand-carved dining table in the main area, or al fresco on the deck under a canopy of stars. For a completely tailor-made experience, meals are all prepared by your very own team of chefs with meal times arranged to suit.
The Chongwe area is famous for the resident male elephants that wander around the grounds and across the river. The Chongwe River House can arrange walking safaris, canoe safaris, catch-and-release fishing, game drives, boat cruises and a visit to the local village.
