Omaanda

As you journey through the pristine bush between Windhoek airport and the city you will occasionally catch a glimpse of a property nestled away in the desert offering peace and tranquillity but with easy access to the airport with Omaanda being a prime example of such places.

With just 10 suites, split between one and two-bedroom offerings, this is a superb spot to spend a few nights if you value privacy and peace, as well as amazing food and service. The suites have all been designed to show harmony with nature and harnessed traditional building methods and materials in their construction. Inside they are beautifully decorated with colonial style furnishings, comfortable beds and sofas as well as spacious en-suite bathrooms with all of the amenities one could wish for. Private terraces are found at the front of each room and look out over the bush, making them the perfect spot to spend a relaxing afternoon. The main area of the lodge boasts a large dining room with a fireplace in the middle, a welcoming bar area and a large terrace where guests can relax in the afternoon and enjoy drinks as the sun sets over the bush. The infinity pool is one of the most striking features of the lodge and immensely popular with guests, whilst the pool bar serves a huge range of drinks, cocktails and more for guests relaxing there.

A wide-ranging activity programme is offered from the lodge, including game drives, leopard, elephant or rhino tracking, sunrise visits to habituated meerkat colonies and trips to the excellent Shiloh Wildlife Sanctuary which the lodge supports. Plenty to keep you occupied during a night or two spent at this true gem of a lodge.
