Next to the cathedral and City Hall, The Rovuma is also just 400 metres from the Tunduru Botantical Gardens, and a short stroll away you'll find the Praca da Independencia with its giant statue of Samora Machel (the first president of Mozambique after its independence in 1975).
Close by there is also the amazing Casa de Ferro, as well as the Franco-Mozambican Arts and Cultural Centre and the Gil Vicente show house. There's also the bustling central market and the more relaxed Feima Artisan Market to explore. Further afield and accessible by car are several stretches of deserted beaches, particular favourites being Bilene and Xai-Xai. City tours and trips to the Island of Inhaca can be arranged, as well as longer tours to Kruger Park.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, gym and bar, as well as a small shopping area at the front. Rooms have superb city views looking out across Maputo Bay, and may have balconies to take advantage of this excellent location. The restaurant has a buffet as well as a-la-carte meals, with Portuguese and international as well as local Mozambican flavours. The Pestana Rovuma is also handy for the airport being only 7 km away.
