Mwani House Lodge is nestled on the edge of the beach on Ibo Island with direct access to the sea, the ideal location to experience the sun painting pink hues over the pure, clear waters of the Indian Ocean. It is a 45-minute flight from the capital Maputo and just 20 miles from Quirimbas National Park. The white-washed bungalows lined along the coast incorporate a fresh and modern style, which compliments the surrounding lush, green garden.
The accommodation consists of two different configurations: single bungalows ideal for couples, and interconnected bungalows better suited to small groups and families. Each bungalow is equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, Wi-Fi and a large overhead mosquito net. In the shade of tropical palms, enjoy a swim in the outdoor swimming pool and have a freshly-made cocktail from the pool bar. Mwani House Lodge uses produce grown in its vegetable garden and sources local fruit for meals. The restaurant combines the very best influences from indigenous cuisine and echoes from its colonial Portuguese past.
Ibo Island is a fantastic destination for kayaking or walking through the mangroves, and bird watching - see if you can spot the 400 different species of exotic birds. We recommend taking a trip on a traditional sail boat for a different perspective of the island. Culturally Ibo Island does not disappoint, wander along the streets to discover local artists busy at work.
