This 8-day Egyptian adventure combines the historic wonders of Cairo with a relaxing 4-night cruise down the iconic Nile River.

After arriving in Cairo, you'll check into your hotel for an overnight stay. The next few days are devoted to experiencing Cairo's legendary sites like the Pyramids of Giza, enigmatic Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum's ancient artifacts, the medieval Citadel and mosque, and the lively Khan El-Khalili bazaar.

You'll then fly to Luxor and board a Nile River cruise boat. Over the next several days, visit the monumental Karnak and Luxor temples in Luxor, the remarkably preserved temple at Edfu, the unique double temple in Kom Ombo, and experience Aswan's High Dam, ancient Philae Temple and scenic islands via traditional felucca sailboat.

After disembarking the cruise, you'll have the option to take a tour to the magnificent Abu Simbel temples carved into a mountainside before flying back to Cairo for your final night. On the last day, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 1: Arrive Cairo

Board your international flight to Egypt, ready for an amazing adventure. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you'll be greeted inside the terminal and assisted through immigration and visa issuance if required. Your representative will also help you collect your luggage and clear customs. From there, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Cairo to check in for an overnight stay, to get settled after your travels.

Day 2: Experience the wonder of Giza

Begin your day with breakfast at your Cairo hotel, then get picked up for a guided tour of Giza to witness two of the ancient world's most iconic wonders - the massive Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. After a stop for lunch, continue to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities to explore its unparalleled collection of pharaonic artifacts and treasures, or the new Grand Museum when it opens. Your next stops are the Citadel of Salah El-Din, the Middle Ages-era fortified compound, and the exquisite Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali located on its grounds. Cap off your tour of Cairo by experiencing the lively Khan El-Khalili bazaar before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Begin Nile Cruise

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Cairo's domestic airport for your flight to Luxor, receiving assistance through the departure formalities. Upon arrival in Luxor, you'll be met and assisted once more as you transfer to board your Nile River cruise boat. After checking in, enjoy lunch served onboard the cruise. In the afternoon, you'll disembark to visit the East Bank of Luxor, touring the colossal Karnak temple complex and Luxor Temple. Return to the ship for dinner onboard, taking in some evening entertainment. Your first night will be spent overnight on the cruiser, drifting along the Nile.

Day 4: Valley of the Kings

Wake up to breakfast served onboard your Nile cruise ship. Then disembark to explore the West Bank of Luxor, home to some of Egypt's most impressive ancient monuments. Your guided tour takes you to the famous Valley of the Kings, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the colossal seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. Back on the ship, have lunch as you sail towards Esna. Enjoy some evening entertainment after dinner, capping off your day of touring West Bank sites. Another night is spent aboard the cruise, drifting further down the legendary Nile River.

Day 5: Sail to Edfu

Spend the morning sailing to Edfu as you have breakfast on board the Nile cruise ship. Upon arrival in Edfu, disembark for a visit to the remarkably preserved Edfu Temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Back on the ship, continue sailing towards Kom Ombo while enjoying lunch on board. At Kom Ombo, you'll go ashore to tour the unique double temple - one side dedicated to Horus, the other to Sobek the crocodile god. After taking in this unusual temple, reboard for dinner and evening entertainment under the stars. Overnight you'll stay on the cruise ship having now experienced some of Egypt's most memorable ancient sites.

Day 6: Sail to Aswan

Sail towards Aswan in the morning while having breakfast aboard your Nile cruise ship. Upon arrival in Aswan, disembark for a guided tour of the city's major attractions - the modern High Dam, the Old Dam from the early 20th century, and the relocated ancient Temple of Philae. Back on board for lunch, you'll then embark on a traditional felucca sailboat to explore the scenic islands of Aswan from the waters of the Nile River itself. After this iconic experience, enjoy dinner and evening entertainment provided on the cruise ship. Spend another night on board, drifting peacefully along the legendary Nile.

Day 7: Return to Cairo

Start your final morning on the Nile cruise with breakfast on board before disembarking. You'll have the opportunity to go on an optional tour of the magnificent rock-cut Abu Simbel Temples. Otherwise, you'll transfer to Aswan's domestic airport for your flight back to Cairo, receiving assistance with the departure formalities. Upon landing in Cairo, you'll be met and assisted once more as you transfer to your hotel for check-in. Spend one last night in Cairo, giving you a bookend experience to your incredible Egyptian adventure that began with your arrival. Day 8: Farewell Egypt

All too soon it's time to begin the journey home.
