See the best of the Egypt and its culture

This 8-day Egyptian adventure combines the historic wonders of Cairo with a relaxing 4-night cruise down the iconic Nile River.

After arriving in Cairo, you'll check into your hotel for an overnight stay. The next few days are devoted to experiencing Cairo's legendary sites like the Pyramids of Giza, enigmatic Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum's ancient artifacts, the medieval Citadel and mosque, and the lively Khan El-Khalili bazaar.

You'll then fly to Luxor and board a Nile River cruise boat. Over the next several days, visit the monumental Karnak and Luxor temples in Luxor, the remarkably preserved temple at Edfu, the unique double temple in Kom Ombo, and experience Aswan's High Dam, ancient Philae Temple and scenic islands via traditional felucca sailboat.

After disembarking the cruise, you'll have the option to take a tour to the magnificent Abu Simbel temples carved into a mountainside before flying back to Cairo for your final night. On the last day, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

The trip includes 3 nights in Cairo hotels, 4 nights cruising the Nile with full board meals, all tours with an Egyptologist guide and transportation, airport transfers, visa assistance and bottled water during Cairo tours. Extras like domestic flights, visas and most meals are additional costs.

January

A good time to visit, with mild temperatures averaging 20°C. Crowds are smaller, making it ideal for exploring popular sites like the Pyramids of Giza and Luxor's ancient temples. Hotel rates are also lower during this low season month.

February

Similar to January, with pleasant weather and fewer tourists. It's a great month for Nile River cruises and desert adventures before the heat intensifies.

March

March is the beginning of the shoulder season, making it perfect for sightseeing. Crowds may increase in some areas, but rates remain relatively low.

April

Warm and sunny, with average highs around 28°C. It's a beautiful time to visit before the peak summer heat, but tourist numbers begin to grow.

May

One of the best months weather-wise, with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. However, it's considered the start of the peak season, so expect higher prices and more crowds.

June

Early summer sees soaring temperatures, often exceeding 35°C. While crowd levels are high, it's an excellent time for diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea.

July

The peak of summer, with scorching heat and minimal rainfall. Tourist numbers are at their highest, but deals on accommodation can be found.

August

Similar to July, with intense heat and humidity. It's a quieter month for cultural attractions but ideal for beach holidays on the Red Sea coast.

September

Temperatures start to cool down, making it a more comfortable time for sightseeing. It's still part of the peak season, but crowds begin to thin out.

October

An excellent shoulder season month, with pleasant weather and smaller crowds. It's a great time for Nile cruises and desert adventures before the cooler winter months.

November

Temperatures continue to drop, averaging around 25°C. It's a superb time for exploring Egypt's ancient sites, with fewer tourists and lower prices.

December

Part of the low season, with mild weather and minimal rainfall. Hotel rates are at their lowest, making it an affordable time to visit major attractions.

I have just returned from the most amazing trip to Tanzania, booked with Far & Wild. Everything went so smoothly from the first time I spoke with them. The planning was great, the itinerary was perfect for us, and the lodges were amazing. We spent 10 nights with an amazing guide, travelling through Northern Tanzania and even got to see the migration, which was a lifetime ambition of mine. This wasn't our first safari, so we were nervous as to how it would compare, but it was spot on. I will certainly be using them again to book our next trip....we're thinking of a relaxing beach stay next time to get over the excitement of safari!

Just back from another amazing F&W organised trip to Namibia with the family (8 adults). Having been there before, Alistair tailored our trip to include our favourite locations and added a new one for us, which we loved. The quality of accommodation and guiding, activities, food and drinks was exceptional throughout. It was good value for the level of luxury we had.

We had a wonderful trip to São Tomé and Príncipe - a small island nation in the Gulf of Guinea with paradise (almost empty) beaches and jungle forest. It was all well organised by Far and Wild and we stayed at a great combination of different types of resorts/hotels. We really recommend this for those who want to experience a pristine destination with few other tourists and friendly and welcoming people. The islands also feel very safe. At Principe, there are no dangerous animals, snakes or whatever, and it was great to be able to hike in the jungle without being very conscious of where to put your hands and feet. Go before everyone else does!

Back home again, basking in the joys of a superb safari. Every aspect you arranged for us, including linking up with Mack Air and Wild Horizons locally to transport us. The choice of camps was ideally situated, comfortable, in good surroundings, and with excellent wildlife on the doorstep and throughout the wider country. The service staff in each looked after us very well, catering was excellent, and the game guides were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. You made us happy, and we recommend you to similar safari enthusiasts with confidence.

Wow! These guys are amazing. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Friendly AND efficient! Sorted out our trip (last minute and lots of different family member needs, sorry!) in record time and everything worked like clockwork. Trip of a lifetime to the Masai Mara. Will be back (and use F&W again!)!
