Upon landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport and exiting the plane, you will be transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to The Pavilions Garden Villa in the Sanur area, where you will stay one night.

Day 3: Bali to Tambolaka

After breakfast its time for a swift one-hour flight from bustling South Bali to the serene Tambolaka Airport in West Sumba. Upon meeting your English-speaking guide, a comfortable transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle awaits to escort you to your hotel, Nihi Sumba, a luxury oasis along the dramatic Sumba coastline, where you will stay for seven nights. Despite its isolated locale, Nihi Sumba tantalizes taste buds with quality cuisine sourced from nearby organic gardens, a chicken farm, and the sea. Enjoy the all-inclusive dining experience, featuring three daily meals, beverages (excluding alcohol), and weekly special event dinners for communal delight.

Day 4: Nihi Sumba Island

Commence your day with a lavish breakfast, served either at the restaurant or in your villa by a dedicated personal butler. Take advantage of complimentary morning yoga classes at the breathtaking Yoga Pavilion, offering panoramic bay views. The expansive Nihi beach, spanning over two and a half kilometres, invites leisurely strolls or brisk 45-minute power walks to the point and back, revealing captivating rock formations and tidal pools during low tide.

Day 5: Matayangu trek

After breakfast, set off at 8:00 am to discover the Wanukaka Valley's beauty on a 45-minute drive to Matayangu. Park in a nearby village, and follow local guides on a 1.5-hour downhill trek through the serene Indonesian National Park forest to reach a tranquil blue lagoon at the waterfall's base. Emerging from the jungle, take in the breathtaking view of the waterfall basin. Your guides will arrange a simple picnic for a relaxed lunch. Spend the afternoon unwinding and swimming in this picturesque setting before trekking back. Remember to bring a sarong, swimsuit, spare shirt, camera, and sturdy shoes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Day 6: Waikabubak and Sumba surfing

Embark on a morning adventure in Waikabubak, West Sumba's largest town, just a 30-minute drive from Nihi. Explore a lively market showcasing local treasures like dried fish and chili peppers. Engage with vendors, visit a fruit stand and Sumbanese antique store, and catch insights into daily life at traditional markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. After a packed lunch, plunge into Nihi Sumba's main attraction – surfing. Learn the ropes with the waterman, navigating the infamous waves. Exclusive to registered surfers, confirm your surf slot during reservation and check weather conditions with the Head Waterman. A day of cultural immersion and thrilling surf awaits.

Day 7: Lapopu waterfall and Sumba sunset beach ride

Embark on a morning adventure between 8:00 am – 9:00 am, driving through Wanukaka Valley to Lapopu's base. Marvel at a majestic waterfall, cascading over moss-covered rocks into a natural pool—a perfect spot for family and friends. Enjoy swimming and sunbathing while savoring a packed snack. Pack essentials like a sarong, swimsuit, extra shirt, and camera. The afternoon invites leisure at the resort. Later, experience Nihi's signature equine connection as the sun sets. Ride beautiful Sumbanese horses, accommodating all levels, for a memorable beach sunset experience.

Day 8: Nihioka Spa Safari

Today you’ll experience a half-day Spa Safari departing at 7:30 am, traversing Sumba's west coast to the secluded Nihi Oka Valley. Trek through palm tree forests, encountering wildlife and traditional villages. Pause in a Sumbanese village, then descend into Nihi Oka, crossing streams to reach cascading rice paddies with Indian Ocean views. Be welcomed with wet towels and a fresh coconut, kick off the day with yoga and reflexology, followed by a bush-cooked breakfast in a treehouse platform. Your spa therapist performs treatments in a private Bale with ocean and rice paddy views. At approximately 12:30 pm, an open-air safari vehicle awaits your return to the resort. You can spend the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 9: The Sumba Foundation

After a leisurely breakfast, head out at 10:00 am for an exploration of The Sumba Foundation's impactful initiatives. Choose from visiting a local water project, a Malaria-combating health clinic, or volunteering with the school lunch program. The tour, including a stop at the Foundation headquarters, showcases Nihi Sumba Island's deep collaboration with the local community. All profits are reinvested into The Sumba Foundation, fostering community projects. Nihi has become the island's largest employer, and the Foundation, established in 2001, contributes significantly. Witness the Foundation's accomplishments, including 15 primary schools, 48 water wells, five clinics, and a remarkable 85% reduction in Malaria. Return to the resort for lunch and savor the afternoon at your own pace.

Day 10: Back to Bali

As your final day unfolds at the edge of wildness, your luggage will be gathered in the morning. Nihi's airport representative will ensure it is transported to Tambaloka airport and checked in for your Bali-bound flight. Approximately 2.5 hours before departure, a transfer will take you to the airport, where our representative will assist with pre-check-in procedures. Bid farewell to the extraordinary Nihi Sumba experience as you depart for Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali. In Bali, you will be picked up and transferred to The Garden Pavilions Hotel again, where you will stay one night.

Day 11: Departing Indonesia

Day 12: Arrive home
