Nestled on the banks of the Luangwa River, Thornicroft Lodge is an intimate, independent lodge. It is located just outside the main gate to the South Luangwa with easy access to the untamed wilderness of the park.
The accommodation consists of nine en-suite chalets with simple, comfortable twin or double rooms. All the chalets have a veranda with uninterrupted views of the river and park beyond. The lodge also provides eight permanent two-person tents with shared bathroom facilities near the lagoon. The main lodge contains an open-plan dining area, lounge and bar, and indoor braai/BBQ.
Activities at Thornicroft Lodge include game drives where you can watch spectacular wildlife, photograph and even spend time drawing and painting them. In the evening you can enjoy drinks around an open camp fire, discussing the days encounters and watching the stars come out above.
