You will also be able to spend time in the world famous Etosha National Park, the best spot in Namibia for a safari as well as visit the renowned Okonjima Nature Reserve, home to the Africat Foundation.

Day 1: Depart London
This evening you will be departing London Heathrow on an overnight flight to Johannesburg with South African Airways.
Day 2: To Windhoek
Arrive in to Johannesburg and connect on to a flight to Windhoek which lands at lunchtime. You will be collected from the airport and transferred in to Windhoek where you will be spending the night at Rivendell Guesthouse. The afternoon will be at leisure to relax and perhaps do some of your own exploration of Windhoek.
Day 3: The journey to Sossusvlei
After enjoying breakfast with the rest of the group you will set off for Sossusvlei, a drive of some 5 hours including stops to admire the stunning scenery along the way. Arrive at Sossusvlei Lodge in the early afternoon and have the afternoon to relax by the swimming pool and take in the beautiful views out across the desert plains and to the dunes in the distance.
Day 4: A sea of red dunes
You will be up early this morning, enjoy breakfast before dawn and then heading in to the park as the sun rises, enjoying the breathtaking contrast of colours on the dunes as you drive down towards Sossusvlei itself. This will be a chance to climb one of the towering dunes, with those who venture to the top able to enjoy a panoramic view out across the sea of red dunes. Enjoy a stroll through the eerily beautiful Dead Vlei before heading back to the lodge, stopping en-route to view the stunning Sesriem Canyon.
Day 5: The coast awaits
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off for Swakopmund, a drive of 5 hours through the beautiful deserts of Western Namibia. Arrive in time for lunch and then a quick orientation tour with your guide before enjoying the afternoon at leisure to relax and do some of your own exploring. You will be spending the next 2 nights at the Hansa Hotel.
Day 6: Exploring by boat
Set off for Walvis Bay this morning (an hour South of Swakopmund) where you will board a catamaran to enjoy a day out exploring the beautiful coastline that characterises this part of the country, including some breathtaking coastal dunes. There will also be the chance to see a variety of marine wildlife including whales, dolphins, turtles and sunfish. Return to the Walvis Bay Yacht Club for lunch before heading back to Swakopmund in the middle of the afternoon for some time at leisure to relax.
Day 7: Time to explore Damaraland
Depart the quirky charms of Swakopmund this morning as you are driven back inland, through initially flat deserts that become more mountainous as you approach the Southern part of Damaraland. You will enjoy a visit to the historic petroglyphs and geological formations at Twyfelfontein before proceeding on to Doro Nawas Camp where you will be spending the next 2 nights. There will be time to relax in the afternoon and enjoy the spectacular location that this wonderful camp enjoys.
Day 8: A day in the desert
Today you will enjoy a full day exploring the beautiful deserts of Southern Damaraland. Much of the day will be spent exploring the course of the Aba Huab River, which, despite being dry still has water buried beneath the sands, so you will often find desert elephant digging for said water. In addition to this you will often find oryx and springbok dotted along the plains, so it is a great day for learning more about how wildlife has adapted to living in these harsh desert environments.
Day 9: Off to Etosha
Aside from Sossusvlei, the Etosha National Park is arguably the most renowned part of Namibia and with good reason, as this vast salt pan is home to hugely varied wildlife and some truly dramatic landscapes. You will be spending 2 nights at Eagles Tented Camp, a charming camp just a short drive from the Southern gate in to the park. After lunch you will head in to the park with your guide to start spotting the varied wildlife including lion, elephant, rhino, cheetah and a huge variety of plains game. Return to the lodge as the sun is setting for drinks around the campfire before dinner.
Day 10: A full day on safari
Today will be a chance for you to enjoy a full day of game drives within the park. Depending on the consensus of the group and the guide, this can either be split between a morning and an afternoon drive, with lunch back at camp in between, or a fuller day exploring the park with a picnic lunch to be enjoyed by a waterfall taken along with you. However, you choose to spend the day, you will be assured a wonderful experience in the company of an outstanding guide in what is surely the most unique and beautiful park anywhere in Africa.
Day 11: To Okonjima
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the deck at Eagles Tented Camp before starting your journey South, towards the Okonjima Nature Reserve where you will be spending the final night of your trip at Okonjima Plains Camp. After lunch there will be some time to relax before heading out to enjoy their signature Okonjima Experience. This includes a drive through the beautiful reserve and a chance to learn more about their leopard research programmes, as well as the work done in carnivore rehabilitation that Okonjima has been a true pioneer of. Head back to the lodge to enjoy a farewell dinner with the rest of your group.
Day 12: The journey home begins
This morning you will set off from Okonjima and head straight down to Windhoek airport where you will be dropped off in good time to catch your South African Airways flight back to Johannesburg and then onward overnight connection to London Heathrow.
