A gem on the sublime Sambirano coast

This super find has only 8 rooms at a beautiful beach location in remote north-west Madagascar about 15 - 20 minutes by speedboat from Ankify. As such, its the perfect place at which to end a trip after exploring the northern protected areas.
The rooms are set in spacious, airy bungalows constructed of natural materials and are of simple but tasteful design. All are at the beach. The lodge has a fitness centre and massages are offered.
You won't find crowds here and the site is well positioned for some interesting excursions such as to the marine reserve island Nosy Tanikely. Included in the rate, if you stay for 5 nights or more, are a visit to the seldom-seen natural freshwater pools, a trip to Ankify to see everyday life of the people here and also, to see cocoa being sorted for the manufacture of high quality Malagasy chocolates. From the lodge, you can also take an excursion to explore primary forest (about 3 hours walking) or if more energetic, venture further to Doany (4 hours walk) to see Sambirano forest, small wildlife, plantations and rural life. About an hour by boat, is Nosy Mamoko where you can see a fishing village unchanged by time and swim in natural pools at a waterfall. Another excursion gaining in popularity is a visit to Plantation Millot (an hour away by speedboat and road), a 1,000ha estate where cocoa, aromatic herbs and spices are cultivated.
