The Khan Family Spent two weeks on a family holiday in Botswana in October 2018. They had two nights in Johannesburg at the beginning of the holiday, before heading to Victoria Falls and then a week of safari in Northern Botswana, before ending in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, where quad biking and sleeping under the stars was the best thing they’ve ever done! The variety of landscapes and wilderness areas they travelled through kept the itinerary adventurous and exciting from start to finish.

Johannesburg

Essentially all was amazing! We enjoyed the first stopover in Johannesburg and were able to recover from the flight but also take in some culture and history on a tour of Mandela house and the Apartheid Museum.

We then loved Waterberry as a nice gentle introduction in a beautiful setting, we particularly enjoyed hearing all about the community projects and visiting the school, we intend to maintain long term links with them and raise funds/equipment to ship out.

Chobe & Okavango Delta

The 3 safari destinations were amazing, we couldn't find any fault with any of them, food and hospitality fantastic, accommodation very comfortable, settings amazing, guides great, saw incredible sights.

The Khan's spent 2 nights each at Chobe Bakwena Lodge, Gunn's Camp and Sango Safari Camp.

Planet Baobab at the end was an experience, at first I wasn't sure as quite a road trek to get there. Was nice to be somewhere with a big pool but a shame that the short time was scheduled with the bush walk and village tour. The restaurant worked on African time so didn't really fit with the tight scheduling...we missed lunch for example as took too long from order to arriving before we had to go on tour. In retrospect we would have been happy to have just chilled for the first evening and morning there by the pool because the meerkat mania and camp out on the salt plains was worth the trip alone.

Another amazing experience, quad bikes in that amazing environment were the 'best thing we have ever done' according to all 3 kids. In particular the village tour we would have rather not done there as it felt very 'voyeuristic' after our Waterberry experience as this one was done in a safari truck with a guide 'viewing' people’s lives, whereas at Waterberry it was a villager who walked through with us explaining their livelihood which felt much more equal/appropriate if that makes sense.
All in all though amazing, so sad it is over, life is catapulted back into normality and almost feels like a dream :(
Thank you so much for your guidance.

Wow! These guys are amazing. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Friendly AND efficient! Sorted out our trip (last minute and lots of different family member needs, sorry!) in record time and everything worked like clockwork. Trip of a lifetime to the Masai Mara. Will be back (and use F&W again!)!
