Samode palace combines contemporary luxury with traditional architecture to create beautiful, authentic accommodation.
Location: Set in the tranquil village of Samode, just over an hour’s drive from Jaipur, Samode Palace rests against the Aravalli foothills and offers an elegant escape from urban bustle. The property carries nearly 500 years of history, originally a Rajput fort and later transformed into a palace of Indo-Saracenic splendour. The village itself is known for its traditional crafts – block printing, gemstone shops and artisan workshops – and guests can wander through local lanes before returning to the calm of this royal estate in the Rajasthan region.
Rooms: Samode Palace features 43 guestrooms and suites set within the restored palace walls. The design retains heritage character: high ceilings, carved arches, inlaid marble, frescoed walls and four-poster beds. Some rooms and suites offer private courtyards, balconies or Jacuzzis (especially the Royal Suites), blending authentic royal décor with modern comfort. All rooms have air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, and WiFi.
Amenities: Guests are treated to regal hospitality and thoughtful facilities. The palace offers two swimming pools, including a rooftop infinity pool, surrounded by lush gardens. A fully equipped spa and wellness centre provides Ayurvedic treatments, massages, and a gymnasium. Dining is offered across elegant heritage rooms where Rajasthani cuisine meets international flavours, with the option for private terrace or pool-side dining. Housekeeping, laundry, WiFi and a tour desk complete the experience.
Activities: Beyond relaxing in palace splendour, guests can explore the cultural and rural surrounds. Walking tours through Samode village and its craft shops are available, jeep or camel safaris into desert-like terrain can be arranged, and nearby Samode Fort invites a climb for sweeping views. Excursions to Jaipur’s major monuments, such as Amber Fort and the City Palace, are easy to arrange. Within the estate, guests can enjoy guided heritage walks, explore frescoed halls, or simply unwind in shaded courtyards and gardens.
Sustainability: Samode Palace preserves its historical architecture with care, maintaining original frescoes, stonework and craftsmanship in a sensitive heritage-hotel format. By converting the former royal residence into a luxury hotel, the property supports the preservation of local heritage, provides employment for local artisans and promotes the traditional crafts of the surrounding village.
