Located in the North Male Atoll
Use the team of experienced surf guides on the island to help you find the perfect wave!
Location
Nestled in the North Malé Atoll of the Maldives, Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi is a tropical escape wrapped in swaying palms and turquoise waters. Its name means ‘Island of White Gold’, and it’s easy to see why, with long sandy beaches and crystal-clear lagoons surrounding the island. Surfers are especially drawn here, thanks to some of the best breaks in The Maldives right on the doorstep, while the calm lagoon waters are ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
Rooms
The resort offers 165 villas, blending simple island style with comfort. Beach Villas are tucked along the shoreline, just steps from the sand, while the more exclusive Ocean Villas extend gracefully over the lagoon, with private decks for watching the sunset or spotting fish in the shallows below.
Amenities
Life here is designed to be easy-going and inclusive. You’ll find a choice of restaurants and bars offering everything from fresh seafood to global favourites, along with a large pool and beachfront spots to soak up the sun. A wellness spa provides soothing treatments inspired by island traditions, and sports facilities, from tennis courts to a fully equipped gym, are available for those who like to stay active.
Activities
You’ll never be short of things to do. Snorkel among colourful reefs, dive with manta rays and reef sharks, or set out on a sunset dolphin cruise. Surfing is a huge highlight, with consistent waves at Lohis Point, one of the Maldives’ most famous breaks, right next to the resort. Guests also love the guided excursions to nearby islands, giving you a taste of Maldivian culture and daily life beyond the resort.
Surfing
Surfing is without a doubt one of the prime water sports to be enjoyed in and around the resort, guests have exclusive access to Lohi’s surf break, an exciting left-hander that offers consistent performance. This exceptional surf break is renowned amongst avid surfers, and for the past few years has hosted the WQS O’ Neil ‘Deep Blue Open’ competition, there are also six other world class waves just a short boat ride away! These can be reached by the twice daily trips included in the surf package.
Surfers can choose to stay in the popular Beach Villas nestled under the trees along the edge of a white sand beach, or in one of the newly refurbished Lohis Rooms that are literally a twenty second walk to the surf! There is a third option – breath taking Ocean Villas!
In between surf sessions you can chose to relax in the pool or stay active on the tennis, badminton, squash or volley-ball courts, work out in the gym, or enjoy a Yoga class! Alternatively, just relax and enjoy the many other attractions at this ideal destination for the avid surf traveller who is looking for a relaxing, stress free holiday, while scoring some great waves.
In recent years Hudhuranfushi has implemented a surf management plan. In order to enhance the surfing experience and improve service levels to the surfers, the resort now restricts the maximum surfers per day .. All surfers planning on surfing need to be registered otherwise you will not be allowed to surf during the stay. You can only be registered as a surfer by booking your stay with a Surf Travel Agent which we are, surf passes cannot be sold separate to accommodation.
The surfing is second to none. The World Qualifying Series has been hosted here for many years at Lohis Point on the island. It is suited for intermediate and advanced surfers, and for pros when it goes big. If you want a change from the perfect lefts at Lohis, there are twice daily surf excursions to the other waves in the area in large, safe, shaded Surf Dhonis. These trips are included in the surfer package when you book with a surf travel agent. The team of experienced surf guides on island to help you find the perfect wave!
Please note that due to the nature of the waves in the Maldives all surfers should be of at least intermediate level of surfing ability, be capable swimmers, and of suitable fitness for an active holiday.
Lohis Bar: is at the south end of the island with full view of Lohis left and the ultimate place to kick back and tell ‘best wave’ stories after a hard day in the water. "All Inclusive" beverages now available until 11pm. Also Lohis Bar now offers Buffet Breakfast & Lunch for surfers and their families, rather than having to take all meals at the main Banyan Restaurant.
Daily Surfboard Rental $25; Weekly Surfboard Rental $150; Changing boards is allowed/encouraged! Prices subject to 12% GST and any damages will be charged. Prices subject to change. Professional Photo Packages Available.
Sustainability
