The perfect safari holiday to the Zanzibar Beaches

A holiday to one of the amazing beaches of Zanzibar is the perfect way to relax, soak up the sun and truly get away from it all

Beautiful coral reefs, powdery white sands and warm turquoise seas home to an array of marine life, all makes the coast of Zanzibar a very popular place to spend a holiday. When relaxing on the beach or being pampered in a hotel spa isn't enough, there are also many water-based activities available including wind surfing, scuba diving and sailing. Further afield, places such as Stone Town, the Jozani National Forest and Prison Island are just some of the fascinating cultural and historical sights that will make your stay in Zanzibar truly memorable.

At the northern tip of the island is Nungwi which is known as the dhow building capital of Zanzibar. On the west coast one of the best beaches is Mangapwani, but it is to the east where you will find some of the biggest and most beautiful white sandy beaches including Matemwe, Jambiani and Kiwengwa, to name but a few.

The weather in Zanzibar is as you would expect in a tropical climate, reaching into the 40's for most of the year. There are two rainy seasons, the longest of which lasts from around March to May, with the shorter one taking place between November and December.

Temperatures during May are high, with strong winds and continual rainfall. If you travel during this time you won't witness the best of Zanzibar.
